Coming to stay at Crows Nest, or with us already? We’re asked many questions about the site and the local area every day and we’re always happy to recommend, help you out our point you in the right direction during your stay with us. Here we’ve put together the top 5 FAQs by our guests - take a look at our answers!

1. Where is the nearest beach and how do we get to it?

Cayton Bay is the nearest beach to the park and is 1 mile away. It is accessible via the Cleveland Way, which you can get to from our tent field on the cliff top. The Cleveland Way is a 110 mile walk - you can also use this path to get to Scarborough and Filey from the campsite. The cliff top path isn’t for everyone though, so if you want an easier walk you can use the old road which passes by Redcliffe Farm Shop - a perfect spot for breakfast.

Cayton Bay is an award-winning year round dog friendly beach popular with surfers. It’s nestled between the popular resort towns of Filey and Scarborough and is our favourite spot to escape the crowds.

2. What buses come to/from Crows Nest?

Crows Nest is on a frequent bus route for Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. The EYMS 13 travels between all three of the towns via Crows Nest around every 20-30 minutes, and the Filey Flyer 555 stops at both Scarborough and Filey every hour. You can catch the buses from our entrance - there’s stop on the left for Filey/Bridlington and the right for Scarborough.

Special buses to Flamingo Land occasionally run from here too! Ask at reception for details. We also have timetables for Scarborough town buses among our leaflets too.

3. Where’s close by to eat?

We highly recommend The Bull Inn in Gristhorpe for lunch and dinner. It’s close by and offers a great Sunday lunch. It’s dog friendly too! You can walk and drive to The Bull from the park - stop by reception during your stay and we’ll give you directions. We also have a variety of takeaway menus including pizzas and Chinese in reception, all which deliver to Crows Nest.

There is a range of dining options in both Filey and Scarborough for all budgets and appetites, take a look at our Dining Out page for more info. Be sure to use our Crows Nest Fish & Chip takeaway during your stay - they’re loved by both guests and locals. All food is freshly cooked to order.

4. Where can I take my dogs on site?

We’re a pet friendly site and want your dog to enjoy the park as much as you do! While we do not allow pets to go into our carpeted facilities, they are welcome in our pet-friendly heated conservatory adjoining the lounge bar. From here you can watch the lounge bar’s evening entertainment during high season and enjoy a drink too. Our enclosed dog park is located at the top of the site near to the tent field and play area - here you can let the dogs off their lead to play.

The Cleveland Way is perfect for dog walking too! Head to Cayton Bay, the only beach in the area to be pet friendly all year round.
