Goldwing Light Parade - Saturday 6th September
A dazzling spectacle, the Goldwing Light Parade sees hundreds of Honda Goldwing motorbikes, decked out in colorful lights, parade through Scarborough’s streets. This charitable event, held every year in September, features live music, stalls, and a grand firework display at the end of the night, making it a fantastic family-friendly evening. Funds raised support local charities, adding a feel-good vibe to the night.
Filey Kite Festival - 20th & 21st September
Lift your spirits at the Filey Kite Festival, where the Northern Kite Group brings vibrant, extravagant kites to Filey’s Country Park. This family-friendly event features professional kite demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and colorful displays soaring above the coast. It’s a perfect day out for all ages, with the dramatic cliffs of Filey as a backdrop, and plenty of snack stalls to explore.
Marathon du Malton - 21st September
If you're looking for a unique way to combine exercise, indulgence, and Yorkshire's renowned food scene, the Malton Wineathelon 2025- officially known as the Marathon du Malton - is the event for you. Dubbed "Britain's Tastiest 10K," this fun, food-focused race is a playful "gourmet wineathlon" inspired by the famous Marathon du Médoc in France's wine region. Held in the charming market town of Malton, known as Yorkshire's Food Capital, it celebrates local produce while weaving through stunning countryside.
Scarborough Jazz Festival - 26th & 27th September
The Scarborough Jazz Festival is an annual three-day event held in Scarborough, celebrating a diverse range of jazz performances. The festival takes place at the iconic Scarborough Spa venue, overlooking the South Bay, and features a mix of established UK jazz artists, tributes to jazz legends, and innovative ensembles. Expect a jam-packed weekend of top-class jazz in the Spa's Grand Hall, including daytime and evening performances. The event emphasizes swinging, joyful, and contemporary jazz, drawing from classic, bebop, Latin, and urban influences.
Staithes Festival of Heritage - 13th & 14th September
Held in the charming fishing village of Staithes, this festival is a cultural gem celebrating the area’s artistic and historical heritage. On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th, explore pop-up art galleries in cottages, live music filling the streets, and heritage events including walks, talks, and film shows.
