When it comes to the best Sunday Dinners on the Yorkshire Coast, everyone always has an opinion which will no doubt cause controversy. Here are our favourites.
Fresh Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy to complement scrumptious meat and an array of vegetables make Sunday Lunches one of Yorkshire’s finest features. Here are some of the best around the Scarborough and Filey area!
The Grainary - Set on a working farm with amazing views over Harwood Dale to the North of Scarborough. The brisket of beef is to die for. Fun for the kids with a play area and animals to meet. Keasbeck Hill Farm, Harwood Dale, Scarborough.
Traditional Sunday Roast, 1 course £10.00, 2 courses £14.00, 3 courses £18.00, childs portion £6.00. Choose from pork loin, braised brisket of beef, roast chicken and bacon wrapped sausage, vegetarian nut roast. Served 12-6pm.
Raven Hall - Simply the best carvery in the area. Lovely garlic and herby potatoes with deep rich gravy. Ravenscar, Scarborough.
Carvery Lunch, 1 course £9.95, 2 courses £13.95, 3 courses £17.50. Choose from Beef, Pork or Turkey.
Bryherstones Country Inn - Voted the best on Trip Advisor. Lovely pub with friendly staff and massive Yorkshire Puds. Newlands Road, Cloughton, Scarborough.
Traditional Sunday lunch. Choose from mature roast beef and either English leg of lamb or free range loin of pork. Served 12-2.30pm.
Jeremy’s - Amazing Sunday Dinner but a bit posher than your usual fare. For a special treat. 33 Victoria Park Avenue, Scarborough.
Gourmet Sunday lunch, 2 courses £19.95, 3 courses £24.50. Choose from roast beef, belly pork, crispy chicken or fillet of cod. Served 12pm-3pm.
Triton Inn - One of our favourites but a little further afield. A lovely traditional pub set in the village of Sledmere on the Yorkshire Wolds. A knight in full shining armour will watch over you to keep you safe - literally!! Sledmere, Driffield.
Traditional Sunday Lunch, 3 courses £17.95. Served 12-7pm.
The Bull- Our local pub in Gristhorpe. Proper home cooked Sunday Dinner with great portions and a lovely atmosphere. Gristhorpe, Filey.
Choose from lamb, pork, chicken and beef. Roast of the day available daily for £7.95. Served 12pm-7.30pm.
The Anvil Arms - Chosen by the delightful Leanne, this is her families favourite for Sunday Dinners when she was growing up. Bridlington Road, Wold Newton, Driffield.
Traditional Sunday Lunch, 3 courses £8.95, 2 courses £10.95, 3 courses £13.95. 2 sittings: 12.30-1pm and 2-2.30pm.
Scalby Manor - This larger chain pub serves carveries all week long. Good for a quick, easy meal out. Play area outside for the kids. Burniston Road, Scalby.
Crown Carvaries. 1 course £7.49 or ‘go large’ for £8.99. Choose from slow roasted gammon, turkey, beef, pork or half a roast chicken. Served 11.30am-9.30pm.
