Filey Ranked as Most Child-Friendly Beach in Britain

A recent study led by Twinkl Educational Publishing announced Filey as the most child-friendly summer destination in England based on different factors.

New research from Twinkl Educational Publishing found that Filey was the most child-friendly beach for families in England, as featured in Twinkl’s Family Day at the Beach and Out and About summer initiatives.

Twinkl looked at six beaches in England and based on the information found, looked at baby-changing facilities, toilets accessibility, lifeguards, lost child services and first aid services.

Filey has a strong fishing community and beach goers can often watch the fishermen busy at work. Filey beach is located between an RSPB nature reserve and Filey Brigg. In low tide, rock pools are great to explore and, sometimes, even the odd shipwreck can be seen.

There’s a seafront promenade, with plenty of shops nearby. Beach huts can be hired, which are great for families wanting to leave their stuff in a safe place. There’s first aid and lost child services, which can be accessed via the lifeguards. Filey Beach has also won TripAdvisor Travellers Choices 2019 and The Sunday Times 2018 Best Beach in Britain. Putting all this together has made Filey Beach our top child-friendly beach for 2022.
