Easter plans? If you're staying with us during the Easter holidays, you're in for a treat! There are numerous Easter-themed events suitable for families of all ages in our local area. Take a look at our recommendations and start planning your getaway.

Trails & Treasure Hunts

There are plenty of Easter adventure trails and egg hunts happening nearby this year, giving us many options to choose from. You can participate in the family 'Adventure Quests' at renowned English Heritage sites such as Scarborough Castle or Whitby Abbey.

From the 29th of March to the 1st of April, Filey Bird & Animal Park is hosting a special Easter treasure hunt. It only costs £1.00 to join in. While you search for treasures around the park, you can also visit and feed the resident animals, including alpacas and exotic birds.

Scampston Hall's Easter Bunny Trail is a fun activity for both kids and adults. You can explore the gardens, solve clues, and complete an activity sheet to win a prize. The trail runs every day from the 27th of March to the 7th of April.

Lambing & Farming

If you want to try something different this Easter, you can take part in one of the lambing experiences at local farms. Humble Bee Farm near Filey and Piglets Adventure Farm near York offer these Easter-themed events throughout the holiday season. At Humble Bee Farm, you can enjoy a 2-hour experience that includes bottle feeding and getting a glimpse of the maternity and nursery wards. They also have a new Muddy Boots Play Area for 2024.

Piglets Adventure Farm's Easter Egg-stravaganza combines an egg hunt and family shows with their 'Lambing Live' experience. You can witness the birth of baby lambs, participate in bottle feeding, and then relax to watch one of the Farm's exciting pantomimes or enjoy the adventure play park.

Local Events

Filey International Food Festival will have an Easter edition on the 30th and 31st of March during the holiday weekend. You can expect a wide range of Easter treats, including chocolate and spring produce. There will also be artisan gins, beers, and local food available for you to enjoy.
